How do you talk to people?

Yes Im really asking this. The only conversations I can actually carry are ones about interests of mine like games and stuff. I can't hold any sort of normal conversation with people at all. People have told me I come off as random, weird, annoying, etc. I will literally just walk up to a coworker and spout some quote from a movie like they know what I'm talking about but in reality don't. I'm 24 and never had a girlfriend and I believe if I can't even talk to people in general I will never ever find a girl to date. I tried dating this girl once a few years ago but it ended in less than a week. What can I do?
