The "plastic" nipple broke off in the wall of my shower . Will it cost a lot to fix ?

My daughter fell in the shower . She broke her fall with the faucet spout knocking it off . The nipple broke off from the plastic pipe (pvc?) , can I replace this myself or will a plumber be necessary ?
