Is my carpal tunnel coming back?

I had carpel tunnel in the past but it hurt in my wrist. Now I'm having sharp pains in my left hand on the side of my palm. It hurts off and on. It's like a stabbing pain. It'll hurt fr like 2 secs than stop then repeats. What could it be?
